Two track Tuesday 3 w/c Jan 30 2017

This feature is likely to become monthly going forward as unfortunately just not enough of you read it. I understand, it is a bit different to the rest of my posts – I even questioned doing it at all in the first place. BUT I do enjoy doing it and those of you who do read two track Tuesday seem to love it so I will continue (I think), just less frequently.

1. Young Fathers – Only God Knows

You would have had to have been living under a rock this past week to have not known that T2, the long awaited sequel to Trainspotting, was just released. Young Fathers take on the role Underworld had in the first film as the musically soul of the film with 6 tracks on the new soundtrack.

Only God Knows is an absolute blinder of a track that had me immediately turning up the volume and putting on repeat. If you follow me on Instagram stories you might have seen my baby grooving to it. It even features the Leith congregational choir.

Young Fathers are a band I’ve liked a few years now and I’m pleased to see them getting some of the attention that they deserve. This track had its first airing on BBC 6 music last week.

2. Desperate Journalists, Resolution

My second track this week is “Resolution”, from London band, Desperate Journalist’s second album, Grow Up, due out in March.

It features the band’s ‘signature blend of post-punk, noise rock, and 80s’ which you will come to learn is my ideal blend of tunage. I’m really excited about what else this album will have on it.

As usual, let me know what you think of this week’s choices in the comments. Depending how this goes down, your next one might be in a month. I’ll keep you posted.
