There are loads of great brands that are cruelty free these days. We really have no excuse to be still buying from brands who aren’t cruelty free, as tempting as it can be sometimes. I love getting a cruelty free beauty advent calendar for each December. It makes the month really exciting and festive getting a little treat each day. The products generally last me throughout the full year and I rarely buy products outside of it. I’ve been trying to choose which I want this year so I thought I’d share my favourite cruelty free beauty advent calendars for Christmas 2023. (For those of you who are vegan, I also have a post that covers my recommendations for vegan beauty advent calendars.)
I have included some more affordable options and (after my top pick for 2023) have placed them in order of cheapest to most expensive for your convenience.
Beware that some of the images have content spoilers so if you like a true surprise maybe don’t look at the images too closely.

My top pick cruelty free beauty advent calendar 2023
Body Shop Advent calendars 2023 – £59-£145
No longer owned by L’oreal (and therefore the devil himself, Nestle) I feel I can finally now shop at Body Shop again that they have been taken over by Brazilian company Natura International.
As usual, the Body Shop have 3 different advent calendars (affiliate link) at different price points this year. All the calendars have Community Fair Trade and natural origin ingredients and recyclable packaging.
Advent of Wonder 2023 for £59 worth £119 (affiliate link)
Their lowest cost advent calendar (affiliate link) has increased in price from £55 to £59 this year (‘cost of living’ casualties never cease). 24 items, mostly minis. Get 590 reward points when you purchase this advent calendar.
Big Advent of Wonders 2023 for £95 (affiliate link)
25 minis and full size. Worth £173.50 saving £78.50. Their middle range advent calendar has kept the same price this year but it’s contents are worth more giving you a higher saving. 950 reward points.
Ultimate Advent of Wonders 2023 – £145 (affiliate link) – worth £254!
Again, their top end calendar is the same price this year but it’s contents are worth more making it excellent value for money. 25 full size favourites and bestsellers. 1450 reward points when you buy this calendar.

Sence Collection Advent Calendar – Magical Times 2023 – £25
New brand to my list for 2023 is Sence Collection Advent Calendar – Magical Times (affiliate link). The Sence Collection Advent Calendar contains 24 beauty bath and body minis. A good lower cost option for teenagers.
Revolution Skincare 12 Days of Face, Body & Hair Mask Advent Calendar 2023 – £25 (worth £27)
This Revolution Skincare 12 Days of Face, Body and Hair advent calendar (affiliate link) includes: 10 body masks, 1 headband and masking brush. Earns you 25 RevReward points.
The advent calendar is confirmed cruelty free and vegan. It does not contain any animal derived ingredients and is approved by PETA as Animal Test Free. The outer packaging is fully recyclable.
Whilst cheap for a cruelty free beauty advent calendar it perhaps isn’t the best value for money being worth only £2 more than the cost.
17. Countdown Of Joy Advent Calendar 2023 – £30
This year Boots 17 has launched an advent calendar and as of December 2022 17. is Leaping Bunny certified.
The Boots 17. cruelty free beauty advent calendar (affiliate link) includes 24 days of limited edition cosmetics and accessories – from makeup must-haves, to useful tools and accessories.
This would be a great option for a teen!
Profusion 25 Days To Sleigh Advent Calendar 2023 – £30
New brand to my list for 2023 is Profusion’s 25 Days to Sleigh Advent Calendar (affiliate link). Features 25 days of Profusions’s best-selling hero products from makeup to accessories. Cruelty free and vegan. Available at Boots so you can build Advantage Card points too. Great lower cost option for teenagers.
Barry M Cosmetics Beauty Advent Calendar 2022 – £40 (worth £120)
If you want a bargain you can currently buy Barry M’s advent calendar from last year half price for £40.
It has 25 beauty products, including 6 nail varnishes.
In 2021 it had 12 nail products which is still currently on sale on Amazon for £37 (affiliate link).
Barry M is all cruelty free, vegan and PETA certified.
Joules Starry Night Advent Calendar 24 Days of Gifts 2023 – £42
After their Advent Calendar launch in 2022, Joules is back again this year with another beauty advent calendar that is vegan and cruelty free. The price is up £2 on last year.
These items come in little festive house packages that were designed to be reused, refilled and displayed so you can enjoy the magic for years to come.
It’s mostly bath and body products with some lip scrubs/balms and an eye mask. You can buy from Boots now (affiliate link) to make the most of those Advantage Card points.
Holland and Barrett 25 Days Of Beauty Advent Calendar 2023 – £45 (worth £179)
Holland and Barrett’s 2023 beauty advent calendar is the only one I’ve seen so far that’s price has gone down! Last year it was £55 and its worth roughly the same too with 2 more full sized products. Well done Holland and Barrett!
I got this advent calendar in 2021 and thought it was excellent value for money.

Baylis & Harding Signature For Him Advent Calendar 2023 – £45
New for the list in 2023 is Bayliss and Harding Signature for Home Advent Calendar (affiliate link) which contains 24 minis. Includes aftershave, shampoo, body soak and more.
- Not tested on animals and doesn’t contain animal derived ingredients.
- Suitable for Vegans.
- PETA without bunnies verified.
- Plastic free outer packaging – 100% recyclable.
Makeup Revolution 25 Days of Glam 2023 – £48 (worth £96)
Makeup Revolution’s advent calendar (affiliate link) launched on 1st September 2023 for £48. It is worth over £96 offering a 50% saving, the calendar includes 20 full size beauty must-haves and Revolution’s TikTok viral products. It has some really awesome looking products in it including various colour palettes.
The advent calendar is confirmed cruelty free and vegan. It does not contain any animal derived ingredients and is approved by PETA as Animal Test Free. The outer packaging is fully recyclable. It wouldn’t make my non toxic list though as it does contain parabens.
Last year Makeup Revolution’s You Are the Revolution advent calendar was 25 full sized products worth £94.

Boots No7 advent calendars 2023 – £54.95 to £149.50 (worth tbc to £465)
Boots No7 is finally on my cruelty free list as they have now been confirmed as having cruelty free status.
NEW this year Boots have four beauty calendars differentiated by skincare regimes! Each calendar heroes one of No7’s skincare regimes so you can shop the perfect 25-day countdown for your skin needs [Protect and Perfect, Lift & Luminate, Restore & Renew and Future Renew].

Also new the the cruelty free scene is Dove, now certified with PETA. The Dove advent calendar (affiliate link) has a lot of volume with 14 full sized Dove products and 10 gifts such as an eye mask, mirror and wooden soap tray. My mam would love this one! You can buy two at a discounted price of £100 on Sephora.
Arran Sense of Scotland Winters Night Advent Calendar 2023 – £70 (worth over £150)
One of my favourite brands is Arran Sense of Scotland and they are back with their advent calendar again in 2023 and even better, they haven’t increased the price like so many have but the worth value has increased by £10.
This year expect 25 minis (very similar to last year):

12 Days of Liz Earle Beauty 2023 – £75 (worth £173.50)
This year Liz Earle have again released a 12 day advent calendar full of their best selling non-toxic beauty favourites. Yes it does contain a cleanse and polish!
Mix of full size products and luxury miniatures.
This year Liz Earle have kept their set very similar but the price has increase by £10.
You can buy from Look Fantastic here (affiliate link) and make the most of the money off discounts they often run to make it better value for money.
Leaping Bunny and PETA certified cruelty free but not vegan.
Rituals House of Rituals Advent Calender 2023 – £87.90 (worth £150.50)
New for my list in 2023 is Rituals House of Rituals Advent Calendar (affiliate link). This is both cruelty free and paraben free.
The calendar is styled after their flagship store House of Rituals and 24 includes body, home and beauty minis, including four candles for every Sunday of Advent. There’s even a Christmas ornament in there!
Dr. Hauschka Advent Calendar 2023 – £90
New for my list for 2023 is Dr. Hauschka with their advent calendar (affiliate link) with 23 travel items and a full sized item on day 24. Includes best sellers and new launches.
Lumene Advent Calendar 24 Nordic Beauty Secrets 2023 – £94.90 (worth £235.00)
I really rate Lumene’s advent calendars (affiliate link). They are always gorgeously designed and their products are fantastic. As well as being vegan and cruelty free Lumene has high quality and clean ingredients. I’ve bought the Lumene advent calendar twice in the past and have never been disappointed.
This year expect 24 beauty must-haves from Lumene – 17 skincare and 7 makeup favourites.
bareMinerals advent calendar 2023 – £105
New to the guide for 2023 is bareMinerals advent calendar (affiliate link) with 12 full size and mini sized make up and beauty products.
Cowshed Winter Advent Calendar 2023 – £150 (worth £180)
Up a whopping £30 from last year, this year’s offering contains 25 non-toxic mini/travel items.
Presented in a beautiful hand-illustrated advent box inspired by the winter greenery of the Walled Garden at Babington House, you can reuse and refill for years to come. This year Lush has increased its advent calendar price by £10 however, it has also launched a more affordable second option at £125. Still mega money because its Lush!

I love the fact that there is so much choice for cruelty free now but I wish there were more 100% vegan options too as for me it should really be the same thing. Love this post though and it’s definitely a step in the right direction!

I love the look of these, especially the Charlotte Tilbury one! Although not sure I could justify the cost!
They are pretty expensive at an already expensive time of year!
